Engine alternatives for booking a team offsite

Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and a planner on site. Free proposal in 48 hours.

Offsiteio put this list together and lists itself first, so weigh it accordingly. For every other company we relied on its own website, checked in October 2026 and linked at the bottom. Corrections are welcome.

Engine is a free business travel booking platform whose groups service collects hotel group rates for you and books the block, starting at roughly 10 rooms (engine.com/groups, checked Oct 2026). People look for alternatives for two reasons: they want a different booking tool, or they realize the hotel is only part of the job. This page covers both: other self-serve group booking tools, and what it looks like to hand the whole offsite to a planner.

1. Offsiteio: when the hotel is only the start

A room block solves one problem. An offsite also needs a meeting room that works, meals for every dietary need, something memorable on day two, rides from the airport and someone to call when the projector dies. That's the job we take on. You share your headcount, dates and goals; within 48 hours we send two or three destination options, each with one per-person price broken out line by line. Seeing it is free and commits you to nothing.

If you book, our planners handle every vendor and one of us stays on site through the trip. Trips typically start around $1,450 per person, and real trips have run up to about $2,402. Airfare is quoted on its own. Google reviewers rate us 5.0 (17 reviews). Our Offsiteio vs Engine page goes deeper.

2. Groups360

The closest like-for-like alternative. Groups360's GroupSync shows real-time group rates and availability so you can "book room blocks and meeting space with just a few clicks," for groups needing 10+ rooms. It says it covers 32,000 cities across 225 countries and territories and mentions risk-free cancellation if you change your mind (groups360.com, checked Oct 2026). Choose it if you want to self-serve instantly rather than wait for quotes.

3. Perk (formerly TravelPerk)

Perk is a full business travel and spend platform; travelperk.com now redirects to perk.com. It runs a group bookings service for trips of 9+ people and an Events module that searches venues and negotiates rates with AI (Perk group bookings, checked Oct 2026). Its travel-only Starter plan is listed at $0 per month plus a 5% booking fee (perk.com/pricing, checked Oct 2026).

4. Navan Events

If your company runs travel on Navan, its Events module covers venue sourcing, invites, room blocks, budgets and approvals in the same system, now with BoomPop's AI Event Agent built in (navan.com/events, checked Oct 2026). We didn't find published Events pricing.

5. Vrbo

For a small team that would rather share a house than a hotel floor, Vrbo rents whole homes, with "Entire place, just for you" on its homepage and VrboCare support around the clock (vrbo.com, checked Oct 2026). You'll still need to arrange food, workspace and activities yourself.

Choosing between a booking tool and a planner

Booking tools such as Engine and Groups360 are excellent at one thing: getting a fair rate on rooms quickly, at no cost to you. They assume you'll design and run the rest. A planner costs money because it replaces your time across the whole program. If you're unsure which side you're on, our guide to planning a company offsite lists every task, and the planner vs DIY page helps you count the hours.

FAQs about Engine alternatives

What's the most similar tool to Engine for group hotel booking?

Groups360's GroupSync, which lets you search and book hotel room blocks and meeting space online for groups of 10+ rooms (checked Oct 2026).

Is there an Engine alternative that plans the whole offsite?

Yes, a done-for-you planner. Offsiteio handles destination, hotel, meeting space, meals, activities and transfers, and has someone on site for the trip.

Do Engine alternatives charge fees?

Groups360 says it is free to search, Perk publishes subscription and per-booking fees, and Vrbo adds a traveler service fee (checked Oct 2026). Offsiteio prices the entire trip per person.

Should we book rooms ourselves to save money?

Sometimes. If the trip is simple, a free booking tool can work well. For multi-day programs, compare the total cost and your team's time before deciding.
