Company offsites, planned end to end
Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and a planner on site. Free proposal in 48 hours.
A company offsite is the few days a year when your team works on the business instead of in it, somewhere far enough from the office that Slack can wait. For a distributed company it may be the only time colleagues share a room. For a fast-growing one, it's where new hires meet the people they'll depend on. Offsiteio plans company offsites and corporate offsites from the first brief to the last airport transfer, for one itemized price per person. This page goes deep on the three decisions that shape every offsite: the format, the agenda and the budget.
Decision 1: pick the right company offsite format
| Format | Group | Work vs play | Usual length |
|---|---|---|---|
| All-hands offsite | The whole company | About half and half | 3 nights |
| Planning offsite | Leadership plus team leads | Mostly work | 2 nights |
| Department offsite | One function, such as engineering or marketing | Work-led with one big activity | 2 to 3 nights |
| Remote meetup | A distributed team meeting in person | Mostly connection | 3 to 4 nights |
| Celebration offsite | Whole company after a milestone | Mostly play | 3 nights |
The format decides the venue, the agenda and the budget, so settle it first. If your trip is mainly a reward, see incentive trips. If it's mainly for senior leaders, see executive retreats or leadership retreats. For a sales team's annual kickoff, see sales kickoff planning.
Decision 2: build the agenda around energy, not slides
Most corporate offsite agendas fail the same way: too many presentations, too little time to talk. A structure that holds up for groups of 20 to 150:
Arrival day
- Arrivals across the afternoon with transfers matched to flights
- No content before dinner; a welcome drink and a mixed-seating dinner instead
Day two: the big picture
- Morning: the CEO's story of the year, followed by open Q&A with nothing off limits
- Late morning: cross-functional breakouts on two or three company questions
- Afternoon: the main shared activity, chosen to get mixed teams talking
- Evening: a standout group dinner
Day three: the team level
- Morning: department sessions turning company priorities into team plans
- Midday: short readouts, then lunch
- Afternoon: free time (some of the best conversations happen here)
- Evening: closing dinner with recognition moments
Departure day
- Breakfast, late checkout where possible and staggered transfers
A rough rule: no more than half of the waking hours should be scheduled content. Our offsite agenda templates have hour-by-hour versions, and company offsite activities lists options by group size.

Decision 3: budget per person, not per line
Finance teams approve offsites more easily when the number is expressed per attendee. Our destination packages start from about $1,100 per person in Riviera Maya and run to about $1,900 in Hawaii. The full company offsites we've planned have landed between $1,450 and $2,402 per person. Flights are quoted separately.
What moves the figure the most:
- Nights. Each extra night adds lodging and a day of meals.
- Hotel tier. Usually the biggest single lever.
- Hosted meals. Leaving one dinner free saves money and gives people breathing room.
- Season. Shoulder-season dates and midweek arrivals often cut hotel rates.
- Group size. Fixed costs, such as a private room or a guide, spread across more people in a larger group.
For a line-by-line view, read the corporate retreat cost guide or use the offsite budget template. Our pricing page explains how our single per-person quote is built.
Where companies hold offsites
For a destination trip, the right place is usually the one most of your team can reach on one flight. Popular picks include Austin, Nashville, Miami, Mexico City and Lisbon. Teams clustered in one metro can drive instead; see retreats near Denver or Washington, DC, for example. The guide to the best offsite locations ranks all 24 of our destinations.

Company offsite FAQs
What is a company offsite?
A company offsite is a planned gathering away from the office where employees focus on strategy, planning and relationships. It typically lasts two to four nights at a hotel or resort.
What is the difference between a company offsite and a corporate offsite?
The terms mean the same thing. "Corporate offsite" is more common at larger organizations, while startups and scaleups tend to say "company offsite."
How much does a company offsite cost per person?
Our destination packages start from about $1,100 per person, and the full company offsites we've planned have run $1,450 to $2,402 per person. Flights are quoted separately.
How often should a company hold an offsite?
Once a year is common for all-hands offsites. Remote companies and leadership teams often meet twice a year or quarterly.
How many people can Offsiteio plan for?
We plan for small leadership groups and for company-wide trips. Larger groups need more lead time to secure a single hotel with enough meeting space.
