Why Miami works for a company offsite

Miami offers a resort feel without a resort's isolation. South Beach puts the hotel, the beach, dinner and nightlife within a few blocks, so nobody has to coordinate rides after the group dinner. For teams flying in from the Northeast in winter, the warm weather alone does a lot for morale.

The city is also easy to reach. Miami International handles nonstops from nearly every large US metro, plus Latin America, which helps if part of your team is in Bogotá, São Paulo or Mexico City. The culture mix (Cuban, Caribbean, South American) gives you activities that feel specific to the place, not generic team building.

Miami suits celebrations, sales kickoffs and all-hands meetups well. For deep heads-down planning, we'd keep meetings at the hotel and save the city for the evenings.

Best time of year for a Miami offsite

November through April is the dry season, with warm days and lower humidity. That's also high season, so book early. Art Basel Miami Beach in early December and spring break in March push room rates up noticeably. Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November. Summer trips can be good value, but we build in flexible terms and watch the forecast closely.

Sample 3-day Miami team offsite itinerary

Day 1: Arrive and hit the beach

• Afternoon transfers to the airport, about 20 minutes away

Where teams stay in Miami

Our sample package uses the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel on Collins Avenue. It's a boutique beachfront property with art-deco-inspired rooms, a large pool with cabanas and meeting rooms on site. Having the work space in the same building is a big deal in Miami Beach. Nobody loses 40 minutes to traffic between a session and the beach.

For groups that want something quieter or larger, we can also quote properties in Mid-Beach or Brickell, the business district across the bay.
