The best company retreat planners for startups
Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and a planner on site. Free proposal in 48 hours.
A note before you read: Offsiteio made this list and we're on it, in first place. For the seven others we relied only on their own websites, checked in October 2026, and linked each source. Spot something out of date? Let us know.
Startups plan retreats differently from enterprises. There's usually no events team, the person organizing it has a full-time job already, and the CFO wants a number that won't grow. That's why we put Offsiteio first: a planning team does the whole thing and you get one itemized per-person price.
Other options fit other startups well. Nowadays and Retreat give lean teams software with a free starting tier. Offsiter sells fixed packages for small groups. Flok and Surf Office are agencies that name startups, scale-ups and distributed teams as clients.

How we picked these planners
- Startup fit: the company's own site mentions startups, lean teams, remote teams or small groups.
- Cost visibility: we favored firms that show prices, fees or budget guidance publicly.
- Workload: how much of the work stays with your team after you sign.
- Sources: only first-party pages, checked in October 2026.
1. Offsiteio
We plan the whole retreat: destination scouting, hotel, meeting rooms, meals, activities and transfers, with a member of our team on site throughout. The pitch for a startup is simple. One upfront price per person, every line visible, no hidden fees, so the budget you approve is the budget you pay.
Within 48 hours you get a free proposal with two or three destinations and a per-person price, and there's no commitment. Our trips typically start around $1,450 per person, flights quoted separately. Teams that want to skip airfare can choose a drive-to retreat. Ask for a startup retreat proposal.
Best for: growth-stage startups where the organizer can't spend weeks on vendor calls.
Pricing: one itemized per-person price, upfront.
2. Nowadays
Nowadays positions itself for startups that want to plan retreats without a planner, using AI to contact venues and compare proposals (nowadays.ai, checked Oct 2026). Its pricing page lists a free Basic tier, an Explorer tier with a $250 refundable deposit and a 10% service charge, and custom Enterprise pricing (Nowadays pricing, checked Oct 2026).
Best for: a scrappy ops person who wants software to do the outreach and is happy to make the calls.
Pricing: published tiers.
3. Retreat (planretreat.com)
Retreat says it earns commission from hotels, so it doesn't charge you for hotel bookings. Extra services are priced openly: $20 per person each for flight booking, activities, transportation or restaurant booking, and $299 per day for an on-site concierge (Retreat pricing, checked Oct 2026).
Best for: remote startups that want a free starting point and will pay only for the extras they need.
Pricing: published add-on prices.
4. The Offsite Co.
The Offsite Co. focuses on retreats for remote tech companies and runs a Bay Area page aimed at startups. It handles flights, transportation and on-site logistics, and suggests budgeting about $750 per night per employee plus flights (theoffsiteco.com, checked Oct 2026).
Best for: remote-first startups that want the agency to book air travel too.
Pricing: budget guidance only; fee not shown.
5. Surf Office
Surf Office says startups, scale-ups and Fortune 500 companies trust it to handle everything for groups from 15 people (surfoffice.com, checked Oct 2026). It works from a large list of international locations. Flights go through a partner agency rather than Surf Office itself (Surf Office FAQ, checked Oct 2026).
Best for: a startup that wants an overseas retreat and a long location shortlist.
Pricing: not published.
6. Flok
Flok builds each retreat around what the team needs to change, and it serves remote and distributed companies (flok.com, checked Oct 2026). Its examples skew toward groups of about 70 and up.
Best for: a distributed company whose founders want help with purpose and structure, not just venues.
Pricing: not published.
7. Offsiter
Offsiter sells pre-built hotel meeting packages you can customize online, mostly in Northern California, with per-person starting prices listed on each package (one starts at $802 per person) (offsiter.com, checked Oct 2026). Packages are sized for small groups; listings show caps such as 20 or 25 guests.
Best for: a small Bay Area team that wants a fixed package fast.
Pricing: package prices published.
8. NextRetreat
NextRetreat publishes a per-member concierge fee, €49 for teams of 20–80 and €39 for 80–500, plus a €50 deposit (NextRetreat pricing, checked Oct 2026). Its testimonials come mostly from remote software companies, and its destinations are mainly European.
Best for: EU-based or EU-bound startups that like a known fee.
Pricing: service fee published; trip costs separate.
What startups should check first
- Who does the work after you sign? Software saves money but moves effort onto your team.
- What's excluded? Airfare, bar tabs and AV often sit outside the quoted price.
- Can you shrink the group? Headcount often changes after a funding round or reorg, so read the attrition terms.
Not sure on budget yet? Our retreat cost guide and remote team offsites page help. When you're ready, get a free per-person proposal in 48 hours.

Startup retreat planning FAQs
How much should a startup budget for a company retreat?
For a planned multi-night trip, Offsiteio retreats typically start around $1,450 per person with flights quoted separately. Drive-to locations cost less because there's no airfare.
Is software or a planner cheaper for a startup?
Software often has a lower fee, but your team does more of the work. A full-service planner costs more in fees and saves staff time.
What size startup needs a retreat planner?
Once you're past roughly 25 people or crossing time zones, the logistics usually justify outside help.
Can a startup retreat be planned in a month?
Sometimes, if dates are flexible and the group is small. More lead time gives better hotel options.
