Corporate retreat locations in Florida

Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and a planner on site. Free proposal in 48 hours.

When a company wants sun in February, Florida is usually the first state on the list. It has warm winters, two coastlines with very different personalities, a deep bench of resort hotels and more than a dozen commercial airports. For a People or Ops lead with a team spread along the East Coast, few places are as easy to reach in a single flight.

What separates a great Florida offsite from a forgettable one is the coast you pick and the month you go. Below are eight corporate retreat locations in Florida, with the meetings they suit best, group sizes, venue styles and timing. Drive and transfer times are approximate.

Eight Florida locations for corporate retreats

Miami and Miami Beach

Best for: celebration trips, sales incentives and all-hands meetings with a strong social side. Group size: 20 to 400. Getting there: about 20 to 30 minutes from Miami International to most hotels. Our Miami destination guide has a full three-day plan, and Miami-based teams can see drive-to ideas on the retreats near Miami page.

The Florida Keys

Venue type: island resorts in Key Largo and Islamorada, and historic inns in Key West. Season: December to May. Getting there: about 1.25 hours by car from Miami to Key Largo, roughly 3.5 to 4 hours to Key West, or a direct flight into Key West's airport.

Timing a Florida offsite

South Florida is at its best from November to April, which is also when rates peak. North Florida and the Panhandle flip that pattern: winters can be cool and gray, while April, May and October are excellent. Summer brings heat, humidity and daily afternoon storms everywhere.

Hurricane season officially runs June 1 to November 30, with the highest risk from mid-August to mid-October. You can still book in those months, but plan for flexible contracts and an indoor backup for every outdoor activity. For a direct comparison with other warm-weather options, our best offsite locations ranking includes Florida alongside Puerto Rico and Mexico, and Puerto Rico is worth a look if you want island feel with no passports.

Florida corporate retreat FAQ

Where is the best place in Florida for a corporate retreat?

Miami for energy and celebration, Palm Beach or Naples for a refined executive retreat, Tampa Bay for value, and Orlando when the group runs into the hundreds and logistics come first.

Is it risky to plan a Florida retreat during hurricane season?

The risk is manageable with the right contract terms and a flexible agenda. Late spring and November avoid the peak months while still offering good weather and lower rates than midwinter.

Which Florida coast is better for a team offsite, Atlantic or Gulf?

The Atlantic side has more nightlife and bigger airports. The Gulf side has calmer water, quieter towns and sunsets over the sea, which many leadership teams prefer.

How far in advance should we book a winter Florida retreat?

Six months or more for January through March in South Florida, since corporate groups and snowbirds compete for the same rooms. Fall dates are usually easier.
