Corporate retreat locations in the Caribbean
Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and 24/7 remote support. Free proposal in days.
The Caribbean is the default answer when a US company wants a retreat that feels like a reward: warm water, short flights from the East Coast and resorts that know how to run a group program. The trick is that the islands differ more than the brochures suggest. Some have big conference resorts and dozens of daily flights; others have a handful of boutique hotels and a single runway.
Below are eight Caribbean retreat locations, each with what it suits, a realistic group size, the venue style, the best months and how to get there. Most share a dry season from roughly December to April and an Atlantic hurricane season from June to November. Travel times are approximate.
Where to hold a corporate retreat in the Caribbean
Puerto Rico
Best for: company retreats and kickoffs where nobody wants to deal with passports or currency. Group size: 20 to 1,000. Venue type: beach hotels in Condado and Isla Verde, historic hotels in Old San Juan, and golf and beach resorts in Dorado and Río Grande. Season: December to April. Getting there: San Juan has nonstop flights from many US cities, and US citizens fly in as on a domestic trip. Isla Verde is about 10 minutes from the airport, Dorado roughly 30 to 40 minutes. See our Puerto Rico offsite guide.
The Bahamas
Best for: large incentives and kickoffs that want big resorts very close to Florida. Group size: 30 to 1,500. Venue type: resort complexes on Paradise Island and Cable Beach, plus boutique hotels in the Out Islands. Season: December to May. Getting there: Nassau is about an hour's flight from South Florida, with nonstops from many US cities. Read our Bahamas guide or the Nassau retreat guide.
Turks and Caicos
Best for: executive retreats and premium incentives built around one of the region's best-known beaches. Group size: 10 to 250. Venue type: upscale condo-style resorts and boutique hotels along Grace Bay on Providenciales. Season: December to May. Getting there: nonstop flights reach Providenciales from several US cities, and Grace Bay is about 15 minutes from the airport. The US dollar is the local currency. See our Turks and Caicos guide.
Dominican Republic
Best for: sales incentives and large team trips that want all-inclusive pricing and easy flights. Group size: 30 to 1,000. Venue type: large beach resorts with conference wings in Punta Cana and Bávaro, plus golf estates and boutique options elsewhere. Season: December to April. Getting there: Punta Cana International has nonstops from many US cities, and most resorts are about 15 to 30 minutes away. Our Dominican Republic guide covers seven areas, and the Punta Cana guide lists venues.
Jamaica
Best for: team trips that want resorts plus culture, music and waterfalls. Group size: 20 to 800. Venue type: conference and all-inclusive resorts around Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, and boutique hotels in Port Antonio. Season: mid-December to April. Getting there: Montego Bay's airport has nonstops from many US cities, with resorts about 10 to 30 minutes away. Hurricane Melissa hit western Jamaica in October 2025, so confirm each venue's status. See our Jamaica guide and Montego Bay guide.
Aruba
Best for: retreats that need reliable weather in any month, including late summer. Group size: 20 to 600. Venue type: high-rise resorts on Palm Beach and low-rise hotels on Eagle Beach. Season: year-round; the island sits south of the main hurricane belt and is dry and breezy. Getting there: nonstop flights from many US cities, about 15 to 20 minutes from the airport to the resorts. Flights home clear US customs in Aruba before departure. See our Aruba retreat guide.
Barbados
Best for: leadership retreats and incentives that want polished hotels, good food and a strong local culture. Group size: 15 to 300. Venue type: upscale west-coast resorts, lively south-coast hotels and historic plantation houses for events. Season: December to April; Crop Over festival season peaks in late July and early August. Getting there: nonstops from several US cities, then about 15 to 45 minutes to most hotels. Our Barbados guide has more.
St. Lucia
Best for: small executive groups and reward trips that want dramatic scenery, rainforest and the Pitons. Group size: 10 to 200. Venue type: hillside boutique resorts near Soufrière and larger beach resorts in the north. Season: December to May. Getting there: international flights land at Hewanorra in the south; northern resorts are roughly 1.5 hours away by road, and Soufrière about 45 minutes to an hour. See our St. Lucia guide.

Choosing a Caribbean location by goal
Start with group size and flights. For a few hundred people arriving from across the US, Puerto Rico, Nassau, Punta Cana and Montego Bay have the resort capacity and the daily nonstops to match. For a small leadership team that wants privacy and a strong sense of place, Turks and Caicos, Barbados or St. Lucia feel more exclusive. If the only open window is late summer or early fall, Aruba and nearby Curaçao, which sit south of the main hurricane belt, are the safest bets.
Then think about friction. Puerto Rico needs no passport for US citizens, and Nassau and Aruba let travelers clear US customs before the flight home. Islands that need a connection or a long road transfer, like St. Lucia's northern resorts, deserve an extra night so the trip doesn't feel rushed.
Budget and planning notes
Caribbean costs swing with the season. Rates peak from Christmas through Easter and drop sharply in late spring and summer, when hurricane risk has to be weighed. All-inclusive resorts make the per-person total predictable, while Turks and Caicos and Barbados tend to run higher because of imported food and smaller hotel supply. Group contracts often include room-block and food-and-beverage minimums. Offsiteio trips start from about $999 per person depending on destination, with flights quoted separately. Offsiteio plans in 200+ destinations and sends one upfront, itemized price per person; every trip includes 24/7 remote support, with an on-site coordinator optional. Caribbean corporate retreat FAQs
Which Caribbean island is best for a large company retreat?
Puerto Rico, The Bahamas, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica have the most resorts with large meeting space and the most nonstop flights from the US.
Can we hold a Caribbean retreat during hurricane season?
Yes, with care. Aruba and Curaçao sit south of the main hurricane belt, and June or early July carries less risk than August to October elsewhere. Ask about weather clauses in every contract.
Do US employees need a passport for a Caribbean offsite?
For Puerto Rico, US citizens do not. Almost every other island requires a valid passport, so check that the whole team has one early.
How many nights should a Caribbean retreat be?
Three to four nights is typical. Add a night for islands that need a connection or a long transfer, such as St. Lucia.
