Corporate retreat locations in The Bahamas
Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and 24/7 remote support. Free proposal in days.
The Bahamas is the closest true island getaway for most US teams. Nassau is about an hour's flight from South Florida, the Bahamian dollar is pegged one-to-one to the US dollar, and US dollars are accepted almost everywhere. That makes it an easy sell for a sales incentive, a leadership offsite or a team celebration that needs to feel like a reward without a long travel day.
The country is a chain of very different islands, though, from big resorts on Paradise Island to quiet cays reachable only by small plane or boat. Below are seven corporate retreat locations in The Bahamas, each with what it suits, a realistic group size, the venue style and when to go. Travel times are approximate.
Where to hold a corporate retreat in The Bahamas
Nassau and Paradise Island
Best for: sales kickoffs, incentives and large company trips that need ballrooms, flights and plenty of evening options. Group size: 30 to 1,500. Venue type: large resort complexes on Paradise Island and Cable Beach, plus smaller beach hotels and boutique properties downtown. Season: December to May; hurricane season runs June to November. Getting there: Lynden Pindling International has nonstop flights from many US cities, and Cable Beach is about 15 minutes away, Paradise Island roughly 25 to 30 minutes. Our Nassau retreat guide covers venues and a sample plan.
Exuma
Best for: leadership retreats and small incentives built around boat days, sandbars and very clear water. Group size: 10 to 120. Venue type: boutique beach resorts, villa compounds and small hotels around Great Exuma. Season: December to May. Getting there: a short flight from Nassau or from some Florida airports to Exuma International, then about 15 to 30 minutes to most hotels. A boat day to the swimming pigs at Big Major Cay is the classic outing.
Eleuthera and Harbour Island
Best for: executive and founder retreats that want pink-sand beaches, golf carts and a small-town pace. Group size: 8 to 60. Venue type: small boutique hotels, inns and private villas. Season: December to May. Getting there: a short flight to North Eleuthera, then a water taxi of about 10 minutes to Harbour Island.
Grand Bahama
Best for: budget-aware team trips that want beaches, nature parks and a short hop from Florida. Group size: 15 to 250. Venue type: beach resorts and hotels around Freeport and Lucaya. Season: December to May. Getting there: a short flight from South Florida to Grand Bahama International. The island is still rebuilding some tourism capacity after Hurricane Dorian in 2019, so check each property's status.
Abaco
Best for: small teams that want sailing, island hopping and a relaxed marina scene. Group size: 8 to 80. Venue type: marina resorts, cottages and villa rentals around Marsh Harbour and the outer cays. Season: March to June. Getting there: a short flight from Florida or Nassau to Marsh Harbour, then ferries to the cays. Abaco was also hit hard by Dorian, and recovery varies by cay.
Andros
Best for: small outdoor-focused groups that want bonefishing, diving and blue holes. Group size: 6 to 40. Venue type: fishing lodges and eco-lodges. Season: October to June. Getting there: a short flight from Nassau. Andros is the largest Bahamian island but one of the least developed, so expect simple, rustic stays.
Bimini
Best for: a quick, casual team trip from South Florida built around fishing, diving and beach time. Group size: 10 to 150. Venue type: a marina resort complex and small hotels. Season: year-round, with summer fishing season popular. Getting there: a short flight from South Florida; Bimini sits only about 50 miles off the coast.

Choosing a Bahamas location by goal
If the group is large or the program needs ballrooms, Nassau and Paradise Island are the clear choice, with the most flights and resort space in the country. For a leadership team that wants privacy, Exuma or Harbour Island feels like a different world, but rooms are limited and transfers add a step. Grand Bahama and Bimini are the budget-friendly short hops for Florida-based teams.
A useful bonus for the trip home: travelers flying from Nassau to the US clear US customs and immigration before departure, so arrivals back home are faster. Downtown Nassau is busy on cruise-ship days, so plan excursions around them.
Budget and planning notes
The Bahamas is not a low-cost destination: food and drink are imported, and resort food-and-beverage minimums can be high. Peak rates run from Christmas through Easter, and the Out Islands add inter-island flights or boat transfers to the bill. Late spring is often a sweet spot for weather and price. Offsiteio trips start from about $999 per person depending on destination, with flights quoted separately. Offsiteio plans in 200+ destinations; every proposal is one upfront, itemized price per person, with 24/7 remote support and an optional on-site coordinator. Bahamas corporate retreat FAQs
Which Bahamas island is best for a company retreat?
Nassau and Paradise Island for most groups, since they have the most flights and resorts with meeting space. Exuma and Harbour Island suit small leadership groups.
How far is The Bahamas from the US?
Nassau is about an hour's flight from South Florida and has nonstop service from many US cities. Bimini and Grand Bahama are even closer to Florida.
When should we avoid a Bahamas offsite?
Peak hurricane months, roughly August to October, and the Christmas-to-Easter peak if budget is tight. Junkanoo parades on December 26 and New Year's Day are fun but fill Nassau.
Do we need to exchange money in The Bahamas?
Usually not. The Bahamian dollar is pegged one-to-one to the US dollar, and US dollars are widely accepted.
