Company retreats near Dallas
Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and a planner on site. Free proposal in 48 hours.
Dallas teams are spread out. A company with a Downtown or Uptown office often has people commuting from Frisco, Plano, Las Colinas and Fort Worth, so a "nearby" offsite has to work for someone coming from the far edge of the Metroplex too. For the Chief of Staff, EA or People lead running it, that means picking somewhere that feels different from a suburban office park and doesn't add a long haul on the Tollway or I-35E.
This page lists offsite locations near Dallas you can drive or bus to, the flights out of DFW and Love Field that make sense for a fly-in, and how we would decide between them.
Drive-to options (under ~3 hours)
Each drive time is approximate, from downtown Dallas outside rush hour. North Texas traffic is unpredictable, so leave room in the first afternoon's schedule.
Grapevine
Drive: about 30 minutes, and it sits right beside DFW Airport. Good for: a hybrid retreat where half the group flies in and half drives, or a big all-hands with a full production setup. Best season: year-round; the indoor convention resorts make summer heat a non-issue, and the historic Main Street is busiest during its September wine festival and the holiday season. Venue type: large resort hotels with ballrooms, plus wineries and tasting rooms along Main Street.
Fort Worth and the Stockyards
Drive: around 45 minutes west. Good for: celebrations with a Western flavor, client-facing events and team dinners that people talk about later. Best season: spring and fall; the rodeo season in January and February adds energy and crowds. Venue type: historic hotels in the Stockyards, boutique hotels near Sundance Square and event barns for a private dinner.
Granbury and Glen Rose
Drive: roughly 1.25 hours to Granbury and about 1.5 hours to Glen Rose. Good for: a working retreat with fewer distractions, plus hiking or paddling on the Brazos and Paluxy rivers. Best season: March to May and October to November, when riverside afternoons are comfortable. Venue type: working ranches, lakeside inns and country retreat centers with lodging and a meeting hall on one property.
Lake Texoma
Drive: approximately 1.5 hours north toward the Oklahoma line. Good for: summer team building, boat days and an end-of-quarter reward. Best season: late May through September is boating season; shoulder months are quieter and cheaper. Venue type: lake resorts and marinas, plus group rental lake houses for teams under 20.
Tyler and the East Texas Piney Woods
Drive: about 1.5 hours east on I-20. Good for: strategy offsites that benefit from forest quiet and evenings around a fire. Best season: spring, when azaleas bloom in late March, and fall foliage season in November. Venue type: lake lodges, cabin retreats and country inns on Lake Palestine and nearby lakes.
Two stretch picks come up often. Broken Bow and the Hochatown cabin area in southeast Oklahoma sit about 3.5 hours away, and Austin is roughly 3 hours by car in light traffic but often longer on I-35. Both work best as three-night trips.
Short-flight options
With two airports and a huge American Airlines hub, Dallas has nonstops to nearly every destination on our list. Flight times below are approximate nonstop durations and vary by schedule.
- Austin: about 1 hour from Love Field or DFW. Faster than the drive and skips I-35.
- Nashville: around 2 hours. A strong pick for a celebration with live music.
- Los Cabos: roughly 2.5 hours. Sun and resort space for an incentive trip.
- Riviera Maya: about 2.5 hours to Cancun. Warm water and easy group transfers.
- Mexico City: approximately 2.5 hours. Great food scene and walkable neighborhoods.
- Las Vegas: about 3 hours. Big rooms and many flights for a sales kickoff.
- San Diego: around 3 hours. Mild weather when Texas summers peak.
If you want both kinds of trip on the table, ask us for a proposal and we'll lay out a North Texas option next to a fly-in option for your dates.

What to budget for a North Texas offsite
Offsiteio trips typically start around $1,450 per person, flights quoted separately; drive-to retreats avoid airfare entirely. Near Dallas, a charter bus is usually the biggest transport line, and large convention weeks in Grapevine and the State Fair of Texas each fall can tighten room blocks across the area. Our corporate retreat cost guide walks through each line item.
Picking between them
Map where people actually live first. If most of the team is in Fort Worth or the mid-cities, Grapevine and Granbury are easy; a north-suburb team may find Lake Texoma faster than Glen Rose. Next, decide whether the trip is about thinking or celebrating. The Piney Woods and Granbury favor long working sessions, while Fort Worth and a short flight south lean social. Company retreat near Dallas: FAQs
What's a good corporate retreat near Dallas for a team that hates long drives?
Grapevine or Fort Worth. Both are well under an hour from downtown, and Grapevine is next to DFW for anyone who needs to fly in.
Can we have a lake offsite near Dallas?
Yes. Lake Texoma is the largest option and is about 1.5 hours north. East Texas lakes such as Lake Palestine are a quieter alternative at a similar distance.
Is Broken Bow worth the extra drive?
For a cabin-style bonding trip, often yes. At around 3.5 hours each way it needs three nights, and large groups usually split across several cabins.
When is the North Texas weather best for an offsite?
Late March to May and October to mid-November. Summers run hot, and winter can bring the occasional ice storm that closes roads for a day.
How early should a Dallas company book its retreat?
Three months covers most groups under 50. Bigger teams, or anyone eyeing a spring lake weekend, should start four to six months ahead.
