Peru is the offsite for teams that want a trip with real weight: Lima's world-famous restaurants, the Inca capital of Cusco, the green Sacred Valley and, for many, a first visit to Machu Picchu. Lima has nonstop flights from several US hubs, and the time difference is small. It suits teams of 10 to 300 that are ready for altitude and willing to plan a five-night program.
Here are seven places to hold a corporate retreat in Peru, each with who it suits, the venue style and the best months. Travel times are rough estimates.
Where to hold a corporate retreat in Peru
Lima
Best for: food-led offsites and business meetings: ceviche and pisco workshops, tasting menus and cliffside walks in Miraflores and Barranco. Group size: 20 to 500. Venue type: oceanfront hotels in Miraflores, business hotels in San Isidro and boutique hotels in Barranco. Season: December to April for sun; June to October is gray but mild. Getting there: about 30 minutes to 1 hour by car from Jorge Chávez International, depending on traffic. See our Lima retreat guide.
Cusco
Best for: culture-rich team trips with Inca ruins, colonial plazas, markets and the starting point for Machu Picchu. Group size: 10 to 200. Venue type: converted monastery and colonial-mansion hotels, boutique hotels and a few larger hotels with meeting rooms. Season: May to September, the dry season. Getting there: about 1.25 hours by air from Lima. At roughly 11,000 feet, it needs a gentle first day. Read the Cusco and Sacred Valley guide.
The Sacred Valley
Best for: leadership retreats and wellness programs that want river-valley calm, Andean villages, salt pans and lower altitude than Cusco. Group size: 10 to 150. Venue type: hacienda-style resorts, river-view lodges and spa hotels around Urubamba. Season: April to October. Getting there: roughly 1.25 to 1.5 hours by car from Cusco's airport.
Machu Picchu and Aguas Calientes
Best for: the signature day or overnight of the trip, with a guided visit to the citadel. Group size: 10 to 120, split across timed entries. Venue type: a small number of hotels in Aguas Calientes; most groups visit as a day trip. Season: April to October. Getting there: about 1.5 hours by train from Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, then a short bus ride up to the site.
Arequipa and the Colca Canyon
Best for: teams that want a sunny colonial city of white volcanic stone, good food and a canyon trip to see condors. Group size: 10 to 200. Venue type: boutique colonial hotels, city hotels and country lodges in the Colca Valley. Season: April to November. Getting there: about 1.5 hours by air from Lima; the Colca Canyon is roughly 3 to 4 hours by road from the city.
Paracas and Ica
Best for: a coastal desert offsite with boat trips to the Ballestas Islands, dune-buggy rides at Huacachina and pisco vineyard tours. Group size: 15 to 250. Venue type: bay-front resorts in Paracas and vineyard hotels near Ica. Season: year-round, sunniest from December to April. Getting there: roughly 3.5 to 4 hours by car south of Lima.
The Peruvian Amazon: Puerto Maldonado
Best for: small groups that want a rainforest experience with canopy walks, river trips and wildlife. Group size: 8 to 60. Venue type: jungle lodges reached by boat; meeting space is basic. Season: May to October. Getting there: about 1 hour by air from Cusco or roughly 1.5 hours from Lima, then a boat transfer.
Lima plus the Sacred Valley is the classic pairing. Request a free itemized proposal and we'll price it alongside a single-base option.

Best time for a corporate retreat in Peru
For the Andes, including Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, the dry season from roughly May to September brings clear skies and cold nights; it is also peak season. The wet season, roughly November to March, brings afternoon rain, and the Inca Trail closes every February. Cusco is busiest around Inti Raymi on June 24 and through July and August. Lima flips the pattern: it is sunny and warm from December to April and gray under coastal mist for much of the rest of the year.
Choosing a Peruvian location by goal
For a working offsite with a big agenda, Lima has the meeting space and flight access. For a culture-and-connection trip, two nights in Lima followed by three in the Sacred Valley with a Machu Picchu day covers the highlights. For a leadership reset, a Sacred Valley hacienda gives quiet and space at a gentler altitude than Cusco. Paracas suits Lima-based teams that want a drive-to coastal break. Build in a light arrival day at altitude and keep heavy dinners and alcohol modest on night one.
Budget and planning notes
Peru offers good value for hotels, food and private guides, but Machu Picchu logistics add real cost: train tickets, timed entry and guides need to be booked well ahead, and peak-season trains sell out. Domestic flights between Lima and Cusco are frequent but add a travel day. Sacred Valley resorts can be bought out by mid-size groups in shoulder months. Offsiteio trips start from about $999 per person depending on destination, with flights quoted separately. Peru corporate retreat FAQs
How do we handle altitude on a Peru offsite?
Fly into Cusco and go straight down to the Sacred Valley, which is lower, for the first nights. Keep day one light, drink plenty of water, and ask anyone with health concerns to talk to their doctor before travel.
Can a large company group visit Machu Picchu?
Yes, but entry uses timed tickets with daily limits, and trains have set capacity. Large teams usually split into several groups across the day, with tickets and trains booked months ahead.
How long is the flight from the US to Lima?
Roughly 5.5 to 6 hours from Miami and longer from other US hubs, several of which have nonstop service. Cusco adds about 1.25 hours on a domestic flight.
How many days does a Peru corporate retreat need?
Plan five nights or more if the trip includes Cusco and Machu Picchu. A Lima-only offsite works in three nights.
