Corporate retreat in Bogotá: venues, activities and a 3-day plan
Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and 24/7 remote support. Free proposal in days.
Bogotá is Colombia's capital and business center, and it makes a good company retreat for teams that want a big, cultured city with serious restaurants, museums and an easy flight from the US. It suits strategy offsites, regional all-hands, sales kickoffs and partner summits, from small leadership groups to conferences of several hundred.
The case for it is depth. You get international business hotels with full meeting floors, a historic center for culture, a strong dining scene in the north of the city and day trips into the Andean countryside. The trade-offs are altitude and traffic, both of which can be planned around.
Why Bogotá works for a team offsite
- A major airport. El Dorado International (BOG) is one of the busiest in Latin America, with nonstop flights from many US hubs, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Atlanta, New York and Orlando. Transfers to the northern hotel districts take about 25 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
- Strong business infrastructure. International chains, a convention center and plenty of modern meeting space make it easy to run a full working program.
- Cool weather for work. Days are mild and nights are cool all year, so sessions run comfortably without heavy air conditioning.
- Evenings with range. Zona G, Parque 93 and Usaquén have dense clusters of restaurants and bars; La Candelaria offers a historic setting for a cultural night.
- The caveat is altitude. At roughly 8,600 feet, some people feel short of breath or tired on day one. Keep the first afternoon light, push water and go easy on alcohol at the welcome dinner.
Best time for a corporate retreat in Bogotá
The temperature barely changes, but rainfall does. The driest periods are roughly December to February and June to August, and these are the easiest months for outdoor plans. April–May and October–November are usually the wettest, with frequent afternoon showers. Bogotá empties out a little over Christmas and in the first half of January, which can mean better hotel rates but fewer open businesses. Plan around Holy Week, when many locals travel and some services slow down. Pack layers in every season.

Budget and planning notes
Bogotá is good value for a capital city: business hotels and restaurants cost less than in comparable US cities, and many international chains offer meeting packages. The main cost drivers are hotel tier, ground transport in heavy traffic and how many guided excursions you add. Weekday rates at business hotels can be higher than weekends, which is the opposite of resort destinations. Offsiteio trips start from about $999 per person depending on destination, with flights quoted separately. Give us your dates and headcount and we'll put together a free itemized proposal in days, with one upfront price per person, 24/7 remote support and an optional on-site coordinator. Bogotá corporate retreat FAQs
Where should a team stay in Bogotá?
The north of the city, around Zona G, Parque 93, Chicó and Usaquén, has most of the business hotels and restaurants. La Candelaria suits smaller groups that want a historic setting.
Will the altitude affect our team?
Some people feel tired or short of breath on the first day. Keep day one light, drink plenty of water and limit alcohol; most people adjust within a day or two.
How long is the flight to Bogotá from the US?
Nonstop flights from Miami or Fort Lauderdale take roughly three and a half to four hours. From Houston, Atlanta or New York, expect about five to six hours.
