Corporate retreat in the Hamptons: venues, activities and a 3-day plan
Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and 24/7 remote support. Free proposal in days.
The Hamptons work best for a company retreat when your team is in or near New York and you want the ocean without boarding a plane. The East End suits leadership offsites, client-facing sales teams and small all-hands trips that value a polished setting, good food and a walkable village after dark.
The case for it: a drive or train ride from Manhattan gets you to beaches, vineyards and farm stands, with a short list of hotels that know how to host a meeting. The trade-off is cost and summer traffic, so timing decides whether the trip feels easy or expensive.
Why the Hamptons work for a team offsite
- Close to New York. From Manhattan, Southampton is roughly two hours by car outside rush periods and Montauk about three; summer Fridays can add a lot more. The Long Island Rail Road and the Hampton Jitney coach both serve the main villages, and teams flying in usually land at JFK or LaGuardia.
- Two distinct bases. Southampton, Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor offer village hotels and historic inns, while Montauk at the eastern tip has larger oceanfront and harborfront resorts with more event space.
- Room for real work. The bigger Montauk properties have dedicated meeting rooms and outdoor decks, so a group can hold a morning session and walk straight to the beach at lunch.
- Easy evenings. Each village has a compact main street with restaurants and bars, and vineyard tastings make a natural late-afternoon break.
- The caveat is price and capacity. Inventory is small, many hotels have multi-night minimums in peak summer, and large groups often have to split between properties.
Best time for a corporate retreat in the Hamptons
Late May through June and September through mid-October are the sweet spots: the water and weather are pleasant, restaurants are open and rates sit below the July and August peak. Summer weekends are the hardest dates to book and the slowest to drive, so plan midweek if you go then. Watch Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day and the Hampton Classic horse show in Bridgehampton at the end of August. From November to April prices drop, but some restaurants and seasonal hotels close and the beaches are cold and windy.
Corporate retreat venues in the Hamptons
Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa
An oceanfront resort on the Old Montauk Highway with a seawater spa, several meeting rooms and a tented deck above the beach for workshops. It is the most complete meeting setup on the East End and suits sales teams and mid-size groups that want one property for everything.
Montauk Yacht Club
A marina resort on Star Island in Lake Montauk, with meeting rooms that look over the water and a pier used for group lunches. It works well for strategy offsites that want a boating or fishing afternoon built into the agenda.
Southampton Inn
A year-round inn a short walk from the shops and restaurants of Southampton Village, with a ballroom, smaller meeting rooms and lawns. It is a practical, lower-key choice for working retreats and teams that want the village on foot.
Topping Rose House
A restored historic house in Bridgehampton with a barn and a modern Studio for events; the hotel says the Studio seats up to 60 for a boardroom-style meeting. It fits executive teams and board retreats that care about food and design.
Marram Montauk
A low-rise boutique hotel right on the ocean in Montauk, with 96 rooms and suites according to its operator and a small amount of event space. It suits a leadership group or a team that wants a relaxed, surf-town feel rather than a conference hotel.
Wölffer Estate Vineyard
A working vineyard in Sagaponack that hosts corporate gatherings, team outings and private tastings; its private pergola in the vines seats up to 30. Use it for a half-day off-site session, a tasting or a group dinner rather than as a place to stay.

Budget and planning notes
The Hamptons are one of the more expensive retreat areas on the East Coast, and the calendar drives almost everything: July and August weekends carry the highest rates and minimum stays, while June, September and October midweek dates can be far easier on the budget. Ground transport from New York is a real line item, and a group split across two hotels adds shuttles. Booking a whole boutique property is sometimes possible outside peak months. Offsiteio trips start from about $999 per person depending on destination, with flights quoted separately. Tell us your headcount and dates and we will send a free itemized proposal in days, with one upfront price per person, 24/7 remote support and an optional on-site coordinator. Our corporate retreat cost guide explains each line.

Hamptons corporate retreat FAQs
Is Montauk or Southampton better for a company retreat?
Montauk has the larger resorts with dedicated meeting space and a more casual beach-town feel. Southampton and Bridgehampton are closer to the city and better if you want village restaurants and shops within walking distance.
How do teams get to the Hamptons from New York?
Most groups charter a coach from Manhattan, which takes roughly two to three hours depending on traffic and which village you are heading to. The Long Island Rail Road and the Hampton Jitney are good options for people traveling on their own.
Can the Hamptons handle a large group?
Up to a mid-size group, yes, especially at the Montauk resorts. Larger teams usually split across two properties, which adds shuttles and makes peak summer dates hard to secure.
When is the cheapest time for a Hamptons offsite?
Midweek in late spring or early fall gives the best mix of weather and price. Winter is cheaper still, but some restaurants and seasonal hotels close.
