Corporate retreat in the Andaman Islands: venues, activities and a 3-day plan
Done-for-you team offsites with one itemized price per person and 24/7 remote support. Free proposal in days.
The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal, known for white-sand beaches, clear water and coral reefs, with Port Blair as the capital and Swaraj Dweep, still widely called Havelock Island, as the main resort island. They suit small incentive trips, leadership retreats and reward offsites that want a remote, beach-first setting and are happy to keep the working agenda light. Groups of about 10 to 60 fit best.
The case for it: it feels far from everywhere, with the reefs and beaches doing most of the team-building for you. The trade-off is logistics, which need more planning than a mainland trip.
Why the Andaman Islands work for a team offsite
- Getting there. Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair has domestic flights from Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru and other Indian cities. US teams connect in a major Indian hub. Government and private ferries link Port Blair to Havelock in roughly one and a half to two and a half hours.
- Beaches and reefs. Radhanagar Beach on Havelock often appears on lists of Asia's best beaches, and snorkeling and diving start just offshore.
- A small-group setting. Resorts are intimate, so a group of 30 can feel like it has the place to itself.
- History as well as sand. Port Blair's Cellular Jail, a colonial-era prison and national memorial, adds depth to the trip.
- The caveats. Meeting space is limited, internet can be slow on the outer islands, ferry schedules depend on weather, and some areas are restricted or protected.
Best time for a corporate retreat in the Andaman Islands
November to April is the season, with calm seas and good visibility for diving. December to February is the most popular, and the Christmas and New Year weeks book out early. May brings rising heat and the first rains. The southwest monsoon from about late May to September makes seas rough, can cancel ferries and limits water activities, and October is a shoulder month with some showers. Indian school holidays in May and June also fill ferries and hotels.

A beach resort on Havelock Island with a dedicated conference room it promotes for corporate retreats and workshops. It is the most practical Havelock base for a team that needs a few hours of focused sessions each day.
SeaShell Port Blair
A hotel in Port Blair with a conference room and a banquet venue, under the same group as the Havelock resort. Useful for a first or last night before or after the islands, or for a working day in the capital.

A waterfront hotel on Corbyns Cove Road with meeting and conference facilities and a wedding and events program. A good choice for mid-size groups that want a sea view without leaving the capital.
Welcomhotel Bay Island
An ITC-run hotel in Port Blair with wooden architecture, sea views and a meetings and events offer. Suited to leadership groups that want reliable standards on arrival.
Munjoh Ocean Resort
A boutique resort on Havelock that hosts private beach weddings and events. Consider it for a small executive group that wants an exclusive beach dinner rather than a conference room.

Budget and planning notes
Island logistics drive the cost: domestic flights to Port Blair, ferry tickets, boat charters and limited premium room inventory all push prices up, especially from December to February. Because seas and schedules can change, build a buffer night into the plan rather than flying out the same day you take the ferry back. A three-day program is possible, but four or five days is more comfortable. Offsiteio trips start from about $999 per person depending on destination, with flights quoted separately. Let us know your dates and team size and we will draft a free itemized proposal in days with one upfront price per person, 24/7 remote support and an optional on-site coordinator. The corporate retreat cost guide has more on budgeting.

Andaman Islands corporate retreat FAQs
Where should a team stay in the Andaman Islands?
Havelock is the best base for beaches and diving. Port Blair has more hotel and meeting choice and is useful for arrival and departure nights.
Do foreign visitors need permits for the Andamans?
Permit rules for foreign nationals have changed over the years, and some islands and tribal areas remain off-limits. You will also need an Indian visa or e-visa, so confirm the current requirements and check current government travel advice before booking.
How many days should an Andaman offsite be?
Four or five days is ideal because of the flight and ferry connections. Three days works only if the group arrives in Port Blair early on the first morning.
Is the Andaman Islands good for large groups?
Not really. Resorts are small and ferries have limited capacity, so it suits groups of up to about 60. Larger teams are better served by Goa or a Southeast Asian beach hub.
